Heritage Hills has 143 antique-style street lights spread throughout the neighborhood. These lights add ambiance and help raise our level of security by illuminating otherwise dark areas.
The lights were purchased and installed by HPI in three phases between 1982 and 2004. Each light is connected to the nearest home. Other than the cost of electricity, HPI pays for bulbs, repairs and any other maintenance required to the street lights. When possible, HPI also pursues fair reimbursement for any accidental or intentional damage.
Help keep these lights shining. When digging around the light pole or in an area that in is within the “line of sight” between the pole and the house, remember there is a buried live electrical line. Use caution when digging! The old saying that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” would apply well to this subject. A little caution is less expensive than repairing a cut line for both you and your contractor. Be sure to remind any contractors or maintenance people that you have a buried electrical line.
Over the years several of our light poles have been hit by cars. If you see a pole that has been hit, call Buz Goodrich, Chris Lawson, or Phil Napier. PLEASE DO NOT CALL OG&E or the City of Oklahoma City. These poles can often be repaired if we have all the pieces, and they will haul them away.
To report a light that is not working properly, contact Buz Goodrich or email streetlights@heritagehills.org
