Neighborhood Alliance Honors Heritage Hills
with Special Lifetime Achievement Award
On October 23, 2008, the Neighborhood Alliance of Central Oklahoma presented a Special Lifetime Achievement Award to Heritage Hills, “for extraordinary efforts to preserve a beautiful historic neighborhood and for being a good neighbor to the whole community.” The award was based on HPI’s long history of activities in the inner city. In particular, the award was based on HPI’s support of its neighborhood elementary school, Wilson Arts Integration School, through a 5-year, $400,000 commitment to help fund the construction or renovation of four dedicated arts classrooms and historic exterior features of the building, as part of the City’s MAPS for Kids project at the school. HPI was also recognized for its partnership with Mesta Park Neighborhood Association and St. Anthony Hospital to establish the Shartel Boulevard Foundation, for the purpose of creating and maintaining the public median along Shartel and NW 18th from NW 13th to Western Avenue.
The Neighborhood Alliance of Central Oklahoma is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating safe, attractive and healthy neighborhoods throughout Central Oklahoma by working with neighborhoods and government officials to have a community in which we are all proud to live and work.
